Still Standing exists at the intersection of dance and immersive, performer-operated design. A site-specific socially-distanced performance, the work was developed and performed amidst/in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally commissioned by the Maryland Theatre for the Performing Arts in Annapolis, the movement and design of the work are inspired by the reflective nature of the adjacent National Cemetery. Using over 150 custom built wireless lighting units, Still Standing pivots performers and audiences alike into a surreal luminescent landscape that reveals the connection and power of the collective across difficult times and distance.
The work features a state-of-the-art performer-operated lighting design installation and a powerful, original sound score.
